Wander into any one of a dozen or so blues dens around the Golden Horseshoe on any given night of the week and there’s a fair to middling chance that Mory the Sockman will be digging the scene. And chances are he’ll be one of the few brave souls willing to strut his stuff on the dance floor---while urging the stand-around crowd to catch the fever. The guy loves the music, loves to party, and loves being around people---and people are charmed by him!
Sockman has always dreamed of putting on dance party shows that are second to none. And in the past six years—on just a part-time basis---he has produced several galas that are still talked about today, including most recently May 27, 2009, a show for his birthday that became a tribute to the memory of his mom. 'A Smokin’ Blues Doubleheader' with David Rotundo and Jerome Godboo (Double Dynamite), and Danny Brooks and the Rockin’ Revelators, 'A Night To Remember’ with the Downchild Blues Band in November 2006.
