Welcome to the Sockman's website! Wander into any one of a dozen or so blues dens around the Golden Horseshoe on any given night of the week and there’s a fair to middling chance that Mory the Sockman will be digging the scene. And chances are he’ll be one of the few brave souls willing to strut his stuff on the dance floor---while urging the stand-around crowd to catch the fever. The guy loves the music, loves to party, and loves being around people---and people are charmed by him!
Sockman has always dreamed of putting on dance party shows that are second to none. And in the past six years—on just a part-time basis---he has produced several galas that are still talked about today, including most recently May 27, 2009, a show for his birthday that became a tribute to the memory of his mom. 'A Smokin’ Blues Doubleheader' with David Rotundo and Jerome Godboo (Double Dynamite), and Danny Brooks and the Rockin’ Revelators, 'A Night To Remember’ with the Downchild Blues Band in November 2006.

.

'The Trick Or Treat R&B Ball—October 2005' with the Mississippi Hippies (featuring Lance Anderson on B3 and Gord Myers on trombone) and special guests Roy Kenner and Jay Jackson; and Sockman’s January 2004 debut 'The Super Bowl Rockin’ Blues Gala' with Jack De Keyzer, David Rotundo, and the 'Sock-It-To-You All Star Band'. With the culmination of six years of learning the business and building up a remarkable resume Sockman has now successfully presented on October 2, 2009 at the fabulous Palais Royale Ballroom a magical evening of rockin’ blues with the David Rotundo Band opening up for the top bluesman in the world today MAGIC SLIM & THE TEARDROPS! Sockman first introduced MAGIC SLIM and the Teardrops to Toronto's Orthodox Jewish community with- a magnificent show on WED Sept 30th just two days before the Palais show!
