The audience,
which included JAMES DORAN from CHOOSE THE BLUES witnessed a high
energy show, one of the BEST this year! The next morning ( Thurs. )
I drove to Buffalo and hopped a plane to the Windy City. I met with
Marty Salzman (MAGIC SLIM'S manager) and discussed the possibility
of MAGIC SLIM LIVE at the PALAIS as I had recorded the show on Oct
2, 2009. Kingston mines was packed that thurs nite with a 415. cover
charge for players you see here all the time for FREE. What a GREAT
Blues town CHICAGO!!! The next morning I met with the Brokers who
work ndirectly with all the major grocery chains in the USA. I plan
to sell many new programs of socks, flip-flops, winter wear and hair
accessories next year south of the border.A quick flight back to
Buffalo in the afternoon and then a short drive back to T.O. just in
time to see the amazing KENNY BLUES BOSS WAYNE Fri nite at the SKY.
Again the turnout was disappointing with a cover charge of only
$5.00 but we did have the Pres of ELECRO-FI RECORDS Mr Andrew
Galloway. Also in the audience was Michael the man who runs the
magnificent POCONO BLUES FESTIVAL in north-eastern Pennsylvania for
the last eighteen years! Kenny was joined by Bob Vespiani in the
second set and we were treated to a fabulous mix of great tunes
along ith Wayne's rendition of FAT'S DOMINO'S Blueberry Hill! ANOTHE
GREAT SHOW!!!! Saturday nite we spent Halloween with the incomprable
HOMELES BAND ( coming to the SKY on Fri Dec 4, 2009 ) at ABBET ROAD.
This band provide an evening of kick-ass covers and originals that
had the audience giving standing ovations over and over again.
Sunday aft we were back t the SKY where jerome Godboo added AL
Cross, Shane Scott. and Pat Rush to his band and welcomed the
energized Paul James as special guest. The crowd packed the SKY (
there were five people celebrating bithdays headed by Brian Kaulbach
and everyone had a wonderful time!
I finished off the evening at Roc N`Doc `s where Chuck, Pat and
Michael were back from the road with Downchild. They are always a
treat to see!! Well there you have it - another incredible week of
entertainment with the Windy City thrown in for good measure! DANCE
PARTY MUSIC at it`s BEST |

SOCKMAN 'SPECIAL REPORT'-
Toronto was once the most desirable destination for touring Blues
performers as our appreciative citizenry took more than just pride
in living within “a stone’s throw” of some of the most diverse
entertainment in the world. The Sockman began partaking of this
excess of riches back in the 1960’s and 1970’s and I’m grateful for
the welcome we afforded icons like Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, Jimmy
Witherspoon, Junior Wells, Freddie King, and Albert King at
such landmark spots as The Colonial Tavern...
