SOCKMAN 'SPECIAL REPORT'-
Toronto was once the most desirable destination for touring Blues
performers as our appreciative citizenry took more than just pride
in living within “a stone’s throw” of some of the most diverse
entertainment in the world. The Sockman began partaking of this
excess of riches back in the 1960’s and 1970’s and I’m grateful for
the welcome we afforded icons like Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, Jimmy
Witherspoon, Junior Wells, Freddie King, and Albert King at
such landmark spots as The Colonial Tavern, Le Coq d’Or, The Bluenote, El
